In Plastics Machining, Experimentation is the Cornerstone of Success

When it comes to the ways in which a company like JMJ Profile, Inc. proudly serves its customers, there are always a few important things to keep in mind. While it’s true that we’ve spent years developing and perfecting the types of proprietary systems that meet clients’ needs and that exceeds their expectations, this is only one of many essential elements at play. Craft, precision, experience and technical skill – these are all important, but they’re only one small part of a much larger story.

Experimentation Is King

An old saying tells us that rules were meant to be broken – provided that you understand why that rule was created in the first place. This concept is certainly in play in the world of plastics machining, where not only do you have to account for the natural malleability of the material that you’re working with but you also have to consider that every client is going to be a little bit different from the one before and after it.

Plastics machining is essential because with the right skills and forward thinking, you can do anything. But because of consistent variables like temperature, humidity, environment and more, anything can certainly go wrong, too. This is a large part of why there is no “one size fits all” approach to what we do. Every time we begin working with a client to accomplish a goal, we have to treat it like it’s our first opportunity to do so – because it essentially is.

When NASA comes to us to help use plastics machining to prepare for unexpected dangers that may occur on space missions, there is no room for thinking inside the box. At that point, the box is officially gone. The same is true for concepts like the Boeing AH-64 Apache – an aircraft with a heart founded in plastics machining that offers higher stability, greater strength and lighter weight for members of the Armed Services around the world.

This is also why we at JMJ Profile, Inc. make it a priority to hire team members who exist at the perfect nexus of these ideas. All of our employees are highly trained and incredibly talented, many of whom hold multiple certifications. Our operators need to know precisely what it is they’re doing in reference to what they’re trying to accomplish, but they also need to make adjustments on the fly. They need to solve the types of problems that commonly occur in real-time. They need to be able to look at a material, consider it in the context of a larger end goal and determine the path of least resistance between those two points.

To that end, experimentation doesn’t just provide us with a way to provide something more resilient and meaningful for clients. Through a willingness to experiment and by breaking new ground ourselves, it puts our clients in a better position to accomplish the exact same thing. It’s something we’ve been doing with passion and vigor for over 20 years and we have no plans of slowing down anytime soon.
